At 11:27am on the 20th April 2023 visitors to the Gascoyne region will have front-row seats for one of nature's most phenomenal occurrences - a solar eclipse - with the area experiencing 62 seconds of totality as the Moon completely blocks the sun.
The path of totality will graze the tip of Western Australia in a 40-kilometre-wide track along the Gascoyne coastline. The Gascoyne region will have between 90-100% coverage, making it the most accessible land-based place on Earth to view the spectacle.
There is plenty to see and do around the solar eclipse!
The Shire of Upper Gascoyne has a range of events to celebrate the solar eclipse. Starting with the Solar Eclipse Event on 20 April 2023 and finishing with the Coral Coast Helicopters Kickstarter's GasDash, there is something for everyone under the Gascoyne skies.
